Volunteer

The 2024 MLQ Championship will take place Aug. 17-19 in Howard County, Md. at Troy Park. The Benepe Cup will take place Saturday and Sunday. The MLQ Next Gen Showcase will take place on Sunday. Take Back the Pitch will take place on Monday. Volunteering at the MLQ Championship allows you a behind-the-scenes look at a world-renowned quadball organization. We have opportunities across gameplay, hospitality, marketing and more. Volunteers that work at least ten (10) hours over the course of Aug. 17-19 will receive free admission to the event.

DIGITAL MEDIA

Our aim at MLQ is to present quadball in an elegant, highly-consumable form that mirrors other sports’ top leagues. This means digital media is key. We are looking for talented volunteers or ones eager to learn from existing talent to join our digital media team as championship videographers, photographers, and/or commentators.

GAMEPLAY

While the bulk of MLQ Championship openings are volunteer, MLQ pays referees and flag runners per game.
Head Referee ($30/game)
Flag Runner ($15/game)
Assistant Referee ($10/game)
Flag Referee ($10/game)

HOSPITALITY

The hospitality team is responsible for the guest experience at the MLQ Championship, focusing predominantly on spectators and volunteers, but sometimes athletes.

MARKETING

Help us get the word out! Our marketing team handles the advertising of our event before, during and after. Marketing includes social media, graphic design, press outreach, and more! No experience is required and MLQ Championship is a great opportunity to learn a thing or two about how to market a sporting event.

VOLUNTEER

Where would MLQ be without our volunteers? This team works directly with hospitality to ensure our volunteers and staff have the best experience possible. This include but is not limited to schedule creation, information dissemination, check-in and more.

YOUTH QUADBALL

Youth are the future of quadball. Join our youth quadball volunteer team and teach others how to play the sport you fell in love with! Sessions will be scheduled in advance.

OFFICIALS CHECK-iN AND MEETING

Officials (referees and flag runners) will be meeting on Friday, Aug. 16 at the host hotel at 8 PM ET. We will also be creating a Slack group and an email thread in advance of the event where we will share information with officials and answer questions.

VOLUNTEER CHECK-iN

Volunteers, including players, that are not officials will need to check-in at ticket booth one located by the MLQ merchandise tent (see event site map) on Saturday, Aug. 17 at 7 AM ET to get their volunteer badge. The badge must be returned to a ticketing booth when your shift is complete.
